AVP MASON AND CANCERFREE KIDS KICK OFF
‘COURAGE CHALLENGE’
CancerFree KIDS (a local charity committed to eradicating childhood cancer) and AVP MASON Pro Beach Volleyball, a Reach Event Marketing Production, announce the kick-off of their new partnership to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research by hosting the first ‘CancerFree KIDS Courage Challenge’.
High School and club volleyball teams are invited to participate in the ‘Challenge’ which provides them the opportunity to host fundraisers for CancerFree KIDS, while competing to win an exciting AVP prize package. The prize package includes free team tickets to the AVP Mason finals, signed memorabilia from the pros, a meet-the pros reception and most importantly – an opportunity to play with the pros on center court at the AVP Mason event!
According to Ellen Flannery, Executive Director for CancerFree KIDS, “The ‘Courage Challenge’ is a way for teens to raise awareness and much needed funds for childhood cancer research; while at the same time - helping to promote the great game of volleyball and the AVP tournament which comes to Mason Ohio Labor Day weekend. The partnership is a ‘win-win’ for all involved.”
Already heavily committed to the ‘Courage Challenge’ is the Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Association. Nearly 70 teams from around the state are being encouraged to participate by hosting volleyball fundraisers for CancerFree KIDS. According to Greg Ulland, Cincinnati Moeller Varsity Volleyball Coach, “being part of the ‘Courage Challenge’ is a wonderful opportunity for our teams to make a real difference in the fight against childhood cancer. We are proud to support CancerFree KIDS in this way, and we challenge other teams to do the same.”
